The members of the Website Team represent several hundred alumni of The New Trier West High School Recording Jazz Ensemble, Soundtraks and Jaztrak.
This website has been developed to tell the story of the creation and evolution of the Jazz Program, at New Trier West, whose history has been all but forgotten during the years following the merger of the two New Trier high schools.
Through their own words, pictures, and sounds, the student musicians trace the 16-year history of a mature program of jazz education that not only produced an unusually large number of active and renowned alumni, who have pursued careers in music and other related areas of the entertainment industry, but have also served as the inspiration and model for jazz programs and educators throughout the country.
